This timeless, popular classic is a great story about determination as well as caring. As a little boy becomes excited about planting a carrot seed, his family and others around him insist that this carrot that he has planted will not grow. The little boy carefully tends to his seed and patiently waits for a carrot that he is sure will soon sprout. Through his determination and hard work, a carrot indeed sprouts…one that he knew would from the start. Although strong in its message, The Carrot Seed is incredibly simple in its text and illustrations. Yet however simple and lacking in color the illustrations may be, they are truly charming and are sure to be as significant another 60 years from now.
