A smart little inch worm avoids being eaten by a robin, by offering to measure his tail. Appreciating this worms usefulness, the robin introduces him to other birds so that he can measure things for them. A nightingale challenges the worm to measure his song, and he does so, by inching away to safety. Soft greens and minimalist illustrations depict exactly what is being told on the page and nothing else. There are no busy illustrations to distract the reader from the words on the page, making this a speedy read.
